Self-proclaimed the "Best Korean BBQ in NYC," Miss Korea was our go-to destination for BBQ and one final meal out before leaving the city (New York, I'll be back for you soon). There was a crowd outside the restaurant, a testament to its popularity, and we waited around 15 minutes before being seated.
First up was an enormous variety of side dishes such as kimchi, seaweed, and radish, with complimentary refills I believe. These dishes are given as one "set" per entree ordered, not by the number of people in your party.
We also ordered their Dolsot Bibimbap with Beef Galbi ($17.95) which was served in a stone pot. Bibimbap is essentially a rice bowl topped with meat, veggies, and raw egg. I thought this dish was well done and quite filling as well.
As for the BBQ, we ordered their signature Clay Pot Galbi (Hang-ali Yangnyeom Sogalbi $31.95). The meat was so flavorful and I could see why this joint was so popular. However, the meat was a bit chewy for me and I felt like I got a lot of tendon, albeit my boyfriend didn't seem to have a problem with his. There were also some grilled vegetables and all of the cooking was done by attentive waiters.
I'm definitely going to come back, maybe with a larger group of people, and try more of their dishes!
