I'm sad I passed this place as many times as I did before finally deciding to try it out because it is AMAZING.  I eat dinner early so the entire time I was there only two or three other tables were occupied.  But no matter, our server was fantastic and so was the food.

Root Beer Float ($6)
We started off with a root beer float.  The root beer was tap and the gelato was a fior de latte soft serve that blended together into the most perfect and unique flavor I'd ever had in a root beer.  I want to say it had a very, very slight hint of floral flavor but it might have been just me.

For our appetizer we had one of their daily specials, artichoke wrapped with prosciutto and sprinkled with cheese and breadcrumbs.  I loved how it was multiple "bouquets" of artichoke wrapped together and again the flavors were delicious.

House Pizza: Campanaccio ($22)
Our pizza had fennel sausage, wild mushroom, roasted tomato, and garlic oil.  It was thin, juicy, soggier in the middle and crispy at the edges.  It was also elevated above our table by resting on a rod inserted into a hole on the table (points for creativity).  Simple ingredients done just right.
(They've also added a Chicago-style deep dish pizza to their menu that I was thinking about trying.)

Garlic & Pepper Oil
While the entire meal has been one of my favorites since coming to NYC, I have to say that soft serve really was something spectacular.  I can't wait to come back.
